Working Garrett Wade codes (verified October 2026)
Our team ran checkout tests at Garrett Wade this week, and these codes passed. Codes rotate every few weeks, so test at checkout and grab the one that fits your basket:
- TAKE10: 10% off $75 plus, tested 19 Oct 2026. Excludes Gerstner chests, the foldable garden cart, and USA made steel shovels.
- GW100: 10% off $100 plus, tested 19 Oct 2026.
- WELCOME10: $10 off $75 plus, tested 14 Oct 2026.
- BACKINSTOCK: 10% off storewide, tested 14 Oct 2026.
- 10PCTOFF and 10PCTOFF100: 10% off $100 plus, tested 14 Oct 2026.
- SAVEMORE: $30 off storewide, tested 8 Oct 2026, ends 17 Nov 2026.
- EXTRA10: extra 10% off $125 plus, pre holiday sale, ends 17 Nov 2026.
One promo code per order, no stacking with other codes or sitewide promotions, and some codes carry product exclusions. If your basket is close to a threshold, adding a small item can unlock a bigger discount: a $73 basket misses TAKE10, while a $78 basket qualifies.
15% off your first order of $100 or more (email signup)
Confirmed on garrettwade.com itself: sign up for their emails and, as a thank you, they take 15% off your order of $100 or more. For a retailer where a good hand plane can cost $150, most first time buyers qualify without padding their cart. Sign up before adding items to your cart, and check spam if the welcome offer takes a few minutes to land. Subscribers also get exclusive single use codes a few times a month.
Maker Club: the loyalty program most people miss
Garrett Wade runs a free loyalty program called the Maker Club, and a registered account auto enrolls you. You earn points on every purchase that are redeemable for discount coupons, with tiered status based on spend. The Gold tier gets free shipping on every purchase, which matters a lot here because there is no automatic free shipping threshold. You can also earn bonus points for reviews and social actions, plus a referral program: your friend gets $15 off their first $100 plus order, and you get $15 in reward points. If you buy Garrett Wade tools more than once a year, joining is a no brainer.
Clearance: up to 50% off
The Clearance section is where patient buyers win. Discounts run up to 50% off select tools across woodworking, garden, and home categories, with limited stock that sells out permanently. Clearance stock is typically end of line or seasonal overruns rather than defective goods. Always check clearance before the full price listing: a 30% clearance markdown usually beats any 10% promo code on the same tool. The deepest woodworking tool discounts land in late fall and winter, while garden tools are discounted most deeply in January through March, so time your category purchases to the season.
The Coupons and Promotions page
Garrett Wade runs a dedicated Coupons and Promotions page on garrettwade.com worth visiting before every order. Rotating offers have included up to 50% off select clearance items, $10 off orders over $100, and free gift offers like complimentary pruners with qualifying purchases. Check it fresh every time you shop and note any minimum spend or category restriction before checkout.
10% appreciation discount for teachers, students, and military
Teachers, students, and US service and military members (active, retired, and veterans) get a standing 10% off every order, verified through ID.me. This is not a one time deal, which makes it one of the most reliable discounts the brand has. It is particularly valuable for students and apprentices building out a first tool kit, where 10% off every order compounds across a dozen purchases. Reported on the brand’s partner channels; verify the terms at checkout when you apply it.
Garrett Wade sale calendar: when to buy
- Pre holiday sale (now, ends 17 November 2026): EXTRA10 for an extra 10% off $125 plus, and SAVEMORE for $30 off. If you need tools before December, buy during this window.
- Black Friday (27 Nov) and Cyber Monday (30 Nov 2026): the most aggressive sitewide promotions of the year, historically 20% to 50% off, with Cyber Monday adding a gift for $100 plus spenders.
- Father’s Day (June): a strong moment for hand tool deals aimed at gift buyers.
- January to March: the deepest garden tool discounts of the year, roughly 15 to 20% deeper than summer, timed to the planting season.
Shipping and returns: read this before ordering
Two things most shoppers get wrong about Garrett Wade. First, there is no automatic free shipping threshold: shipping is $13.95 for orders up to $250, $17.95 for $250 to $500, and $22.95 over $500, ground delivery in 3 to 7 business days, to the contiguous 48 US states only. Maker Club Gold tier members get free shipping on every purchase. Second, the returns policy is excellent: return any item within 90 days of the date shipped, and US customers get free returns through a prepaid UPS label. Credit card refunds post within about 48 hours of processing. One honest caveat from a shopper review: original shipping costs may not be refunded, so treat that as verify at checkout.
5 smart ways to save at Garrett Wade
- Start with the working codes, then compare. Test TAKE10 or GW100 against the 15% email signup offer on your first order. The signup 15% usually wins on a first $100 plus basket; TAKE10 wins on repeat orders.
- Join the Maker Club before your first purchase. Points start accruing immediately, and Gold tier free shipping saves $13.95 or more on every future order.
- Mind the thresholds. Codes unlock at $75, $100, and $125. A $73 basket misses TAKE10; a $78 basket qualifies.
- Check clearance before full price. End of line tools at 30 to 50% off beat any code.
- Time garden tools to January through March. Buying pruners in November means paying full price for tools that sit in the garage until spring.
Garrett Wade rewards the organized buyer: working codes worth 10% to $30 off, a 15% signup offer, a real loyalty program with free shipping at Gold, clearance up to 50% off, and a standing 10% appreciation discount for teachers, students, and military. Skip the aggregator sites with dead listings; the verified codes and brand direct deals above are the ones that actually work.
