Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Short version: Discount Thrive earns money through affiliate links. When you click a link on our site and buy something, we may earn a commission from the brand, at no extra cost to you. This never influences which deals we cover or what we say about them.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
When we link to a brand’s website, that link often contains a small tracking code. If you click it and make a purchase, the brand’s affiliate network records the sale and pays us a commission, usually a percentage of what you spent. You pay exactly the same price as if you had visited the brand directly. The commission comes out of the brand’s marketing budget, not your wallet.
This is how Discount Thrive stays free for readers. There are no paywalls, no subscriptions, and no “premium” deal lists. Affiliate commissions are what keep the guides coming.
Who We Work With
We partner with established affiliate networks, including Impact, Rakuten Advertising, Tradedoubler, PartnerBoost, CJ Affiliate, and Skimlinks, as well as some brands directly. These are the same networks used by major publishers worldwide. When you click one of our links, you may pass briefly through one of these networks’ tracking domains before landing on the brand’s site. That redirect is how the sale gets credited to us.
What Affiliate Income Does Not Affect
This is the important part, so let us be explicit:
- It never decides what we cover. We write about deals because they are genuinely useful, not because they pay the highest commission. Some guides on this site earn us nothing at all, and we publish them anyway.
- It never changes what we say. If a brand’s offer is weak, confusing, or full of exclusions, we say so plainly, even when that brand pays us commission.
- We do not sell placements. Brands cannot pay to be featured, ranked higher, or described more kindly. Every paid placement offer we receive gets the same answer: no.
- Codes are tested, not bought. A coupon code appears on Discount Thrive because we believe it works, not because someone paid us to list it.
How to Spot an Affiliate Link
Most outbound links on Discount Thrive, including the “Show Code” and “Show Deal” buttons in our coupon boxes, are affiliate links. They open the brand’s website in a new tab. You do not need to do anything differently; just shop as normal.
A Note on Deal Accuracy
We check coupon codes and offers before publishing and revisit guides regularly, but discounts, terms, and availability are set by the retailers and can change or expire without notice. If a code does not work for you, it may have expired since our last check, or it may carry exclusions (new customers only, minimum spend, specific products). We recommend checking the retailer’s own promotions page as well. And if you spot a dead code on our site, please tell us, we will fix it.
Advertising
In addition to affiliate links, you may see display advertisements on Discount Thrive served by Google AdSense. These ads are selected and served by Google, not by us, and we do not endorse the products or services shown in them.
Compliance
This disclosure follows the guidance of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on endorsements and testimonials, and equivalent consumer protection standards in the UK and EU. Where a post contains affiliate links, that relationship is disclosed on the page itself.
